European Night of Museums 2026 in Sofia: special transport lines to the city's cultural spaces

The European Night of Museums 2026 promises unforgettable experiences with free admission to dozens of museums, galleries and cultural spaces throughout the city, revealing the richness and diversity of Sofia's cultural life.

During one special evening, over 70 sites will open their doors, presenting art, culture and historical heritage in all their diversity.

On the occasion of the event Sofia Tourism Administration - Visit Sofia, together with "Stolichen Autotransport" EAD and Public Transport and Infrastructure Association, are organizing an initiative that facilitates movement between the main cultural sites. The goal is to make visiting the events more accessible, convenient and enjoyable for all residents and guests of the capital.

On Saturday, May 23, visitors will be able to take advantage of special free bus lines connecting key points of the program. The routes are tailored to the locations of the events and allow easy movement between the different sites during the evening.

Route 1
Lion's Bridge Square - Knyaz Alexander I Battenberg Square - Sofia University - National Palace of Culture - South Park - Bulgaria Blvd. - National Museum of History
Buses on route 1 will run from 5:45 p.m. on May 23 to 1:00 a.m. on May 24 with an interval of 20 minutes.

Route 2
Knyaz Alexander I Battenberg Square – Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd – Mihail Eminescu Blvd – National Museum of Military History – Oborishte St. – Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd – Prince Alexander I Battenberg Square
On route 2, the transport will be active from 5:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with an interval of 35 minutes.

The initiative creates an opportunity for all visitors to immerse themselves in the cultural life of Sofia and enjoy an inspiring night filled with art and history.
